February 2019 Update
I'm very excited to announce our next speaker for the March 14th meeting at Marymount in Ballston - Brigadier General (ret) Gregory J. Touhill.
Presentation Title: Better Managing Cyber Risk by Skating to the Puck
Abstract: Traditional cyber defenses are failing. Based on technologies and ideas spawned in the 1990s, they crumble before today's sophisticated threat actors. In this provocative and sometimes irreverent presentation, retired Air Force Brigadier General Greg Touhill, the U.S. government's first Federal Chief Information Officer and current president of the Cyxtera Federal Group, will discuss the current state of cybersecurity and present courses of action to better protect national prosperity and national security.

Also, the board met on February 7 at the (ISC)2 North America Region office in Alexandria, VA to layout our strategy for this year. Special thanks to our host and our board members and volunteers for participating in this very important session. We continue to receive very positive feedback on our Tech Talk events at Nova Labs in Reston, so keep checking our Event Calendar as future meetings are planned. If you have any questions or have ideas on how we can improve your experience as a chapter member, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your support.
